Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) What will you be doing? This position supports a premier program offering Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) to a variety of customers. This trend setting program is setting the standard for cybersecurity across the community. The PROGRAM incorporates all levels of system and cybersecurity encompassing the customer’s security authorization process to include information analysis, integration, security risk management, resulting in an approved Information Systems Security Authorization, as applied through the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
In this role, the ISSO will be responsible for several system security plans, will work with the system owners to manage the system security plans, provide support on technical matters related to security of the systems under their purview and ensure or obtain the authority to operate systems. The ISSO will support the ISSM in maintaining operational IA posture for the supported systems. Will assist in the development of system security policies and ensure compliance with such policies. Will provide configuration management for security relevant systems, software, hardware, and firmware. The ISSO will be passionate about cybersecurity, and have the drive to plan, coordinate and implement IT security programs and policies.
Specific Skills Needed to perform well in this role. - Must work effectively independently and with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Will work with a variety of system owners/customers and will need to be able to effectively communicate to achieve results
- Punctuality – must be present and perform.
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 security controls, customer, and mission.
- Experience using some or all of the following: eMASS, EXACTA, ACAS/NESSUs, Trellis, Splunk, Latte Art, ServiceNow.
What will you need for this job? Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
Years Experience / Degree: - A High School Diploma plus ten (10) years of related worked work experience in the field of security authorization, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of experience.
Certifications: IAM Level I – III or IAT Level I - III (CISSP, GSE, SCNA, GCIH, GISF, SSCP, GSLC, CAP, DIGS, GSED, Security +, CAP or CISA certifications

Salary Range: $170K - $206K
The range displayed above is a likely salary range for all levels within this labor category. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training, contractual requirements and may fall outside of this range.
