Job Description

Our client, a growing startup focused on utilizing data-driven decision making to better society, are hiring a Data Engineer to join their team remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, monitoring and maintaining a scalable data platform that provides valuable insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible to design and implement scalable, reliable data pipelines to collect, transform and curate data from internal systems.

• You will create and customize self-service tools to facilitate data extraction and analysis.

• Continuously enhance data quality by refining and expanding existing data sources.

• Assess and adopt new technologies to improve data engineering processes and suggest innovative metrics and strategies.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.

Skillset

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science with at least three years of experience in Data Engineering.

• Strong programming skills in Python.

• Expertise working with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL. 

• Excellent skills in data manipulation and reverse engineering.

• Experience using data visualization platforms like Kibana, Tableau, and Power BI.

• Solid understanding of data warehouse technologies and best practices in data modelling.

• Skilled in designing and building ETL pipelines with sound knowledge of design principles.

• Previous experience in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment is a bonus.

• US Citizenship or Residency required due to data privacy regulations.

• Willingness to undergo background checks to work with highly sensitive data.
