Our client, a growing startup focused on utilizing data-driven decision making to better society, are hiring a Data Engineer to join their team remotely. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, monitoring and maintaining a scalable data platform that provides valuable insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible to design and implement scalable, reliable data pipelines to collect, transform and curate data from internal systems.
You will create and customize self-service tools to facilitate data extraction and analysis.
Continuously enhance data quality by refining and expanding existing data sources.
Assess and adopt new technologies to improve data engineering processes and suggest innovative metrics and strategies.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
Skillset
Bachelors degree in Computer Science with at least three years of experience in Data Engineering.
Strong programming skills in Python.
Expertise working with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL.
Excellent skills in data manipulation and reverse engineering.
Experience using data visualization platforms like Kibana, Tableau, and Power BI.
Solid understanding of data warehouse technologies and best practices in data modelling.
Skilled in designing and building ETL pipelines with sound knowledge of design principles.
Previous experience in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment is a bonus.
US Citizenship or Residency required due to data privacy regulations.
Willingness to undergo background checks to work with highly sensitive data.
