Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team and focus on conducting comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in pediatrics and experience in performing physical, developmental, and psychosocial assessments. This role plays a critical part in early detection, treatment planning, and ensuring optimal care outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough health assessments on pediatric patients, including physical exams, developmental screenings, and family health histories.
Document assessment findings accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, and other care team members to interpret assessment results and plan patient care.
Educate families on assessment outcomes, preventive care, and next steps in the care process.
Monitor and evaluate patients’ responses to interventions and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
Recognize signs of abuse, neglect, or developmental delays and follow appropriate reporting protocols.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pediatric assessment tools, guidelines, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Current RN license in Georgia.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
Minimum of 1–2 years of pediatric nursing experience (assessment experience preferred).
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
Strong clinical judgment and ability to recognize subtle changes in pediatric patients.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with children and families.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with developmental milestone checklists and pediatric screening tools (e.g., Denver II, Ages and Stages).
Experience working in outpatient pediatrics, home health, or school-based settings.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Work Environment:
This role may involve working in clinics, community settings, schools, OR in-home visits. Occasional lifting or physically assisting children may be required.
