Key Responsibilities:
Customized Instruction: Develop and deliver personalized instructional plans that address the specific needs of each student with visual impairments, ensuring full access to the curriculum.
Adapt Materials: Utilize various tools such as braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technologies to make learning materials accessible and engaging.
Collaborative Support: Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student success.
Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and document students' academic progress, adjusting instructional methods to support their continued growth and development.
Support IEP Goals: Implement and help students achieve the objectives outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring their educational needs are met.
Qualifications:
Certification: Valid California certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
Experience: Previous experience working with visually impaired students, ideally within a school setting, is highly desirable.
Tech Skills: Proficiency with screen readers, braille devices, and other assistive technologies used in virtual learning environments.
Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills to effectively meet each student's unique needs in a virtual classroom setting.
