Job Summary
The University Web and User Experience Designer works under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Web Development and receives art direction from the Senior Director of Creative Strategy in partnership with Director of Digital Marketing and Communications. This position is a key member of the communications team responsible for the visual design of the sjsu.edu website. The incumbent continually develops and designs the look and feel driving the San José State University web presence; integrates user experience design best practices; and contributes to content strategy. The position is responsible for the design and maintenance methods, production and visual development of the sjsu.edu homepage and news pages, top-level pages within the site map, all pages and sites managed by University Communications and Marketing and enterprise-wide web. The incumbent also provides consultation, assistance and web development/design support to other university departments as appropriate.

Campus Security Authority - In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and CSU systemwide policy, this position is subject to ongoing review for designation as a Campus Security Authority.
