Purpose of the Position

• Operates furniture/equipment handling trucks

Specific Job Duties

• Operates furniture/equipment handling trucks as required to safely relocate furniture, equipment, gas bottles, chemicals and other items assigned
• May be required to pick up and deliver locally-purchased materials and supplies in surrounding areas
• May be required to shuttle passenger vehicles
• Will be required to assist the general helpers in moving furniture, boxes, etc.
• Perform transportation functions within customer requirements
• All other duties assigned

Qualifications

· High school graduate or GED equivalent.

· Must be able to drive multiple types of vehicles including by not limited to sedans, vans, pick up trucks and trucks rated to 5 tons.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a commercial driver’s license.

Working Conditions

• Physical effort involving able average standing, sitting, walking or detail work
• Occasional risk of injury due to hazards

Physical Requirements

• Lift minimum of 50 pound load up from the ground frequently
• Walk six hours per day
• Bend and stoop six hours per day
• Work overhead and minimum 20 pound load
• Push and pull frequently throughout the day
• Walk up/down stairs frequently
• Stand seven hours per day
• Wear PPE gear six hours continuously (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves)
• Tolerate extreme cold/heat for three hours continuously

• Good communication skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to work with computers
• Ability to work independently but follow specific detailed instructions
• Ability to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment

Other Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.

•   M ust be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
• Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
• Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license
