Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON! Our limited open positions for Summer 2025 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value-driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

Location:
In conjunction with WoWToWN's current Ways of Working, we intend to offer a hybrid program for our interns, ensuring both a flexible and immersive experience. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and access to our Home Office throughout the entirety of the program.
Internship Details:
- 10 weeks: June 2nd - August 8th
- Full time - 40 hours/wk
- Paid - $17/hr
- Greater Philadelphia location - on site/office requirements vary by internship position but should be generally considered hybrid. On average, an intern can expect to be in our home office 3 times per week.

Overview: Five Below is seeking a motivated and analytical
Financial Planning & Analysis Intern to support our Store Finance team by developing insightful Power BI dashboards for exception reporting. This internship will focus on understanding key drivers of store expenses, with an emphasis on building tools to track wage rates, performance to budget, and other store-related expenses. You'll gain hands-on experience in data analysis, dashboard creation, and uncovering actionable insights that will directly impact our store operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Wage Rate Dashboard Development:
- Assist in building a Power BI dashboard to track wage rates across stores, focusing on employees hired outside of pay bands.
- Analyze the financial impact of wage rate variations and provide visibility into performance against budgeted expectations.
- Create multiple views of the data, including filters by region, position, and other relevant metrics to enhance insights for decision-making.
- Store Expense Driver Analysis:
- Contribute to the development of an enhanced Repairs & Maintenance dashboard to better understand and mitigate expense drivers.
- Support the analysis of other key store expense categories to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for cost-saving initiatives.
- Exception Reporting:
- Build exception reports that highlight outliers in store expenses, such as unusual wage rates, over-budget spending, and other performance deviations.
- Present findings to the team and help explain the root causes of exceptions in a clear, actionable manner.
- Day-to-Day Reporting:
- Gain exposure to the daily financial reporting needs of the Store Finance team, helping to maintain and improve reports.
- Work closely with the FP&A team to ensure accuracy and relevance of financial data.
Requirements:
- Must be actively enrolled as a rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad pursuing or with a Finance degree, or closely related field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
- Must have availability for the full 10-week program as space is limited
- Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented
- Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively
- Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus!
Desired Skills:
- Strong Communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions such as VLookup, pivot tables and data analysis tools.
- Capable of handling large datasets and complex spreadsheets
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Experience with PowerBI or similar Data visualization tools
