Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. Your expertise will contribute to improving the communication skills, quality of life, and independence of our clients.
Responsibilities:
* Assessment and Evaluation:
* Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities.
* Administer standardized assessments and clinical observations to determine diagnoses and establish baseline abilities.
* Treatment Planning and Implementation:
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and evidence-based practice.
* Provide direct therapy services to clients using a variety of techniques and modalities to improve speech, language, and swallowing function.
* Family and Caregiver Education:
* Educate clients, families, and caregivers about communication disorders, treatment strategies, and home exercises.
* Provide training and support to facilitate carryover of therapy goals into daily activities and environments.
* Collaboration and Consultation:
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, educators, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate care and support holistic treatment approaches.
* Consult with educators and school personnel to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support academic success for students with communication disorders.
* Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluation results, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
* Generate reports and communicate findings to clients, families, and relevant stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
* Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for certification.
* State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
* Clinical experience working with individuals across the lifespan with a variety of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
