2nd shift has 10% differential added to hourly pay once training is completed.

Training first on 1st before moving to the 2nd shift may take up to 3 months.

Position Summary

A great opportunity for learning to work as an SMT Operator. Training will be provided for becoming an SMT Operator, Entry Level for positions on 2nd and 3rd shifts. In this position you are responsible for learning the SMT equipment, tools and process, as well as developing machine operation skills in order to successfully execute the activities required in this position. Generally, you will be able to set up and run SMT jobs where the the process is developed and well defined.

• Learn to identify the various types of surface mount components
• Load feeders during off-line setup
• Set up and operate the SMT line equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Read and interpret Visual Aids and diagrams to ensure products are built properly
• Learn to adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately and according to specifications
• Utilize quality practices and procedures to assure that the assemblies are correctly manufactured
• Inspect components to ensure that the machines placed the correct value part in the appropriate location
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly area
• Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work

Knowledge and Skills

• Trained on IPC-A-610, working knowledge helpful.
• Is able to identify common SMT components
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Training through and/or formal training with 0-2 years of experience in this field or related area.
• Candidates with less experience must have great learning and adaptability skills before qualifying for 2nd shift.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing factory and at times, sitting at a workstation and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
• Manual dexterity to evaluate, install, and modify equipment.
