Position Overview
We are seeking a talented, hands-on Data Engineer who is excited to contribute to our cloud-based solutions by managing the pipeline of public and private data from various sources. As part of an Agile team, you will play a vital role in parsing, processing, aggregating, and enriching the latest CRE data. This data is essential for our clients and our internal research team, helping us provide the most comprehensive insights into the Commercial Real Estate landscape.

Key Responsibilities
Design and build database schemas, data ingestion models, ETLs, and testing processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
Maintain and optimize existing data architecture and pipelines while keeping thorough documentation.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members through training, pair programming, and code reviews.
Collaborate with product, research, operations, and front-end teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business objectives.
Analyze large aggregated datasets, including demographic, geographic, and GIS/spatial data.
Work closely with development teams across various time zones, including a primary team in California.
Overlap with the US West Coast for 3-4 hours to facilitate handover discussions, issue triage, and collaboration.
What We're Looking For
We are selective in our hiring process and are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of programming experience in Python (including libraries like Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Flask, FastAPI).
Extensive experience with databases, specifically MySQL, SQL, or PostgreSQL, for at least 5 years.
Proficiency with Git; familiarity with Atlassian products (Confluence and Jira) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment while multitasking effectively.
A track record of keeping up with emerging cloud technologies, programming languages, and best practices.
Familiarity with finance, real estate data, mathematics, or GIS/spatial data is a plus.
Capability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
Desired Skills and Knowledge
Strong Python programming skills and advanced SQL scripting abilities.
Passion for database design, optimization techniques, and data warehousing.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Quick learner who can internalize complex data pipelines and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
Experience with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD practices; interest in front-end technologies is a plus.
Previous experience developing scalable APIs (REST and GraphQL) is advantageous.
