Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist who is proficient in blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, including pediatric blood collections and difficult draws in medical office buildings. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, effectively communicating its importance to other employees. Additionally, you will provide orientation and training for patient service technicians, working under the supervision of the lab supervisor and team lead. Responsibilities + Conduct blood collection using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups. + Handle pediatric blood collections and manage difficult draws in medical office buildings. + Ensure compliance and safety standards are met and communicate their importance to colleagues. + Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. + Work predominantly 3rd shift hours from 10pm to 6:30am. Essential Skills + Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture and neonatal draws. + CPT I certification. + At least six months to one year of experience in an acute or sub-acute setting, including infant draw/neonatal experience. + Experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings with specific draw volume expectations. + Computer skills with experience in lab systems like Cerner. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma. + Hospital experience is a plus. + Experience working with pediatric patients. + Excellent attendance and behavior record. + Flexibility in shifts and hours. + Ability to travel to multiple Medical Office Building labs. Work Environment This role involves high-volume work in Medical Office Buildings (clinics) and, upon permanent placement, transitioning to the main lab in the hospital. You will be working across various draw stations located throughout South Orange County, including locations in Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Foothill Ranch, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Mission Viejo, and Tustin. The environment is dynamic with new needs and coverage for leaves of absence, requiring adaptability and a focus on patient care. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
