Starting pay rate (non-negotiable) $24.72 /hr 

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Protect the health and welfare of the public by defending the station against any act of radiological sabotage, attack, or theft of special nuclear material. As specified by procedure and the site security plan, maintain a secure perimeter for site access and egress and employee, contractor and visitor entry. Perform search, patrol, and inspections in accordance with the Station Security Plan, procedures, and post orders.

  • Maintain qualifications for position

  • Monitor access to security areas
  • Perform search activities
  • Respond to threats and contingency events
  • Perform equipment testing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pass Any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Have a High School diploma or GED
  • Have a valid Drivers License
  • Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment)
  • Be able to pass extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and educational verifications
  • Be able to operate a radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors and surveillance equipment
  • Be able to successfully complete all training required for the position
  • Demonstrate an ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Pass the following, post-offer in accordance with code of federal regulations for armed nuclear security assignment:
  • Psychological assessment, physical exam, including vision and hearing, in accordance with nuclear regulatory requirements and site training and qualification plan.
  • Physical fitness (agilities) test in accordance with site training and qualification plan
  • Firearms qualification with handgun, shotgun and rifle per client site training and qualification plan.
  • Nuclear site-specific training and testing providing general knowledge of nuclear power generation science and principles, this training and testing will include radiation worker principles including respirator training, fit and dress out.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Individuals with prior military, Current/Prior Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice; OR Prior Commercial Security/Loss Prevention experience will receive preferential consideration for these vacancies.
