Overview
Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking a mission-driven Network Engineer to support critical operations at Camp Smith. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in secure network architecture, troubleshooting, and optimization within a classified environment. You’ll be part of a high-impact team supporting national defense initiatives through resilient and secure infrastructure.
Responsibilities
•     Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures (LAN/WAN/VoIP) in accordance with DoD standards
•     Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices
•     Monitor network performance and conduct proactive diagnostics to ensure uptime and security
•     Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce security protocols and respond to incidents
•     Maintain documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and change management
•     Support integration of new technologies and systems into existing infrastructure
•     Provide Tier III support and mentor junior engineers as needed
•     Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs, RMF, and other DoD cybersecurity frameworks
Required Qualifications
•     Active TS/SCI clearance (no exceptions)
•     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
•     5+ years of experience in network engineering within a DoD or IC environment
•     Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and other enterprise-grade networking platforms
•     Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
•     Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.)
•     Experience with DoD cybersecurity compliance (RMF, STIGs, etc.)
Preferred Certifications
•     CCNA / CCNP / CISSP / Security+ / Juniper Networks Certification
•     ITIL or PMP a plus
