Job Description



This Position is Contingent with Contract Award – Role is based on the Coast of Africa. 

This post is in support of a US Government Facility on the Coast of Africa. You would have the privilege of working in an environment that offers countless opportunities for career and personal growth.

The Medical Receptionist would represent International SOS on this US government facility and is responsible for managing the front desk operations of a healthcare facility, ensuring efficient patient scheduling, handling billing and insurance inquiries, and providing excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and a welcoming environment. This position serves as a critical communication link between patients and healthcare providers, facilitating smooth administrative processes. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage appointment bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling to optimize the clinic's workflow. 
  • Greet patients upon arrival, verify personal and insurance information, and process payments at the end of their visit. 
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages between patients and healthcare providers. 
  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with confidentiality regulations. 
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and insurance claims processing, including verification of coverage and eligibility. 
  • Maintain a tidy reception area and manage office supplies to support daily operations. 
  • Assist with referrals and coordinate follow-up appointments or tests as directed by healthcare providers. 
  • Follow protocols for handling emergencies or urgent situations, ensuring patient safety and timely care.

Qualifications



Required Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Medical terminology certification highly preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). 

Experience Preferred: 

  • Experience on a military site, working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred. 

Education Required: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate. 
  • Ability to obtain a base security clearance is required. 
  • Must be able to relocate.
  • A valid passport is required from Country of Record and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
