Job Description

Note:

This position requires employees to be on-site two days per week at the Overland Park, KS office (After 3 months of on-site training). Flexible work-from-home options are available the remaining days.

Note: You must have at least 2 years of legal assistant experience and some IP experience. If you do not meet this requirement, please do not schedule a call, as it will be canceled.

Job Description

  • Assist attorneys with preparation and filing of U.S. and international patent and trademark documents
  • Manage correspondence with the USPTO and foreign associates
  • Maintain legal files, manage deadlines, and monitor docketing systems
  • Perform other administrative and paralegal duties as needed
  • No billing requirements for this role
  • Work a 7.5-hour day, Monday to Friday

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of law office administrative experience
  • Intellectual property experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Typing speed of at least 60 wpm

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with CPi docketing software
  • Experience using document management systems like NetDocs
  • Background as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm setting
