Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Instructional Designer to join our team and support Fort Huachuca, Arizona. In this role, you will have direct oversight on the Education, Doctrine, and Instruction for Intelligence Efforts contract and associated task orders with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine.

As an Instructional Designer, you will create engaging and effective learning products based on solid instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies. These products include learning objectives, assessment strategies, and lesson design documents that support resident training, remote/virtual learning, and blended learning environments. You will ensure that all materials align with learning objectives, time constraints, and instructor-to-student ratios. You will also stay up-to-date with educational research and emerging trends in education to apply best practices in training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive lesson plans, including writing clear and measurable learning objectives in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials and consultations provided.
Apply adult learning principles and learner-centered strategies in the design of lessons.
Design performance-based, measurable assessment items that align with learning objectives and critical tasks.
Collaborate with SMEs and team members throughout the ADDIE process (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation).
Follow accepted templates, formatting guidelines, and instructional design competencies, such as those outlined by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI).
Partner with Quality Assurance Specialists to review and refine all deliverables.
Prepare materials and implement Just-in-Time Training (JITT) events for SMEs and course personnel.
If assigned an Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) project, incorporate proven eLearning engagement and motivation strategies, including case studies, simulations, and scenario-based knowledge checks.
Communicate effectively within the Army training culture to ensure clarity and cohesion across all training efforts.
Perform other related duties as required by your supervisor.

Desired Experience:

Strong understanding of the ADDIE model and instructional design principles.
Prior experience as a curriculum designer or developer, with a focus on adult education.
Previous experience as an educator or military instructor is a plus.
Familiarity with government contracting environments is beneficial.
At least two years of cumulative instructional design experience, including experience in at least three of the following areas:
Applying learning theory and models to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training and education.
Creating advanced distributive learning products, such as distance learning and interactive multimedia content.
Developing and leading the implementation of online courses and web-based training.
Utilizing technology to enhance training delivery and effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be eligible for a government security clearance.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Bachelor's degree is required.
Minimum of four years of experience in education or as an educator in a certified teaching discipline. Preference for experience with adult education and designing learning programs for resident learning.
Educational background must include at least 12 semester credits in areas such as educational research, learning theory, educational technology, or instructional design. Courses focused on administrative or fiscal aspects of education do not meet this requirement.

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
