Job Description

We are seeking a creative and results-driven Instructional Designer to join our team! In this role, you will design and develop training materials, programs, courses, and assessments focused on the operation and service of heavy equipment. Your efforts will directly support the needs of both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating learning solutions that enhance performance and contribute to revenue growth. Additionally, strong project management skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify the training needs of target audiences.
Conduct research and analysis on learner needs and training contexts.
Maintain project documentation and course folders to ensure organization and accuracy.
Establish instructional goals and create content aligned with these objectives.
Design learning activities, assignments, and assessments to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
Analyze training requirements to identify the knowledge and skills needed to perform tasks related to heavy equipment operation and service.
Develop an instructional strategy and learning plan based on established learning objectives.
Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to adapt content to meet specific training requirements.
Write and edit strategic learning documents, such as blueprints, storyboards, video scripts, and job aids.
Create blended learning solutions, including instructor-led training, eLearning, mobile learning, gamification, simulations, micro-learning, and virtual classrooms, grounded in adult learning principles.
Ensure all training programs and materials adhere to branding standards.
Utilize innovative assessments and sustainment tools before and after formal learning experiences.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards.
Provide guidance on course content, methods, and media to ensure effective delivery.
Advise on New Product service and operation training programs.
Lead curriculum innovation, design, and research to ensure the development of high-quality learning programs for dealers, customers, technicians, and marketing teams.
Review content and resources to ensure compliance with development standards and industry best practices.
Stay current with training trends, technologies, and resources, recommending the best options for optimal learning experiences.
Oversee and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), web delivery platforms, mobile apps, and internal training repositories.
Uphold a positive company image by collaborating with colleagues, customers, and management in a supportive and courteous manner.
Communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Document assigned tasks as required and follow supervisor directives.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly focusing on safety and operational compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in instructional design, graphic design, computer science, software design, web design, or a related field, along with 2+ years of experience OR 5+ years of instructional design or training development experience.
Proven ability in the production and development of instructional content for web-based delivery.
Experience designing and implementing blended e-learning solutions.
Expertise in developing online courses for delivery within a Learning Management System (LMS).
Proficiency with authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate 360.
Experience working with LMS platforms such as Absorb, Docebo, Raven360, and LearnUpon.
Self-starter with a strong ability to work within a team-based environment, maintaining high standards for accuracy, quality, and innovation.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume production environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to change.
Strong organizational and project management skills with a keen ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
Proven track record of launching and delivering multiple projects or programs successfully.
Passion for continuous learning and research.
Excellent writing, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
