You must live in Western Pennsylvania currently.

This is a start up opportunity with a global entity with their US Operations in the Cranberry Township Pa area. This is a growth opportunity. They employ less than 30 people at this time and will double in three months and triple in six months. They are looking for a 1-5 year experienced person not an overly experienced person. L:ooking for someone who can and will grow and be the Plant Manager's right hand person during this growth.

The Industrial Engineer drives operational excellence by leveraging technology, optimizing processes, and continuously improving efficiency, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity across global operations.

Key responsibilities:

We are looking for a highly motivated Industrial Engineer who thrives on working with technology, equipment, and process improvement. This role is ideal for someone who not only brings technical expertise but also a genuine passion for how things work — from machinery to manufacturing systems — and is excited to help shape efficient, scalable, and innovative operations.

Manufacturing Process Improvement:

  • Analyze, design, and improve manufacturing processes with a strong focus on efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, streamline workflows, and support the implementation of process changes that enhance performance and reduce waste.
  • Ensure all improvements are aligned with Lean principles and Kaizen methodologies.

Support Equipment Implementation:

  • Support equipment specification by helping select the right tools and machinery for production needs.
  • Assist with layout planning to optimize space and workflow.
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of new or improved processes on the shop floor, ensuring alignment with Lean flow and ergonomic standards.

Time Studies, Data Analysis, and Workflow Improvements:

  • Conduct time studies and analyze data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Propose and implement workflow improvements based on evidence and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support the development of standard work, visual management tools, and performance tracking aligned with Kaizen goals.

Lead Kaizen Events and Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects:

  • Act as the Kaizen Promotion Officer (KPO), planning and facilitating Kaizen events across departments.
  • Train, coach, and mentor employees in CI tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, standard work, and PDCA.
  • Track outcomes and ensure sustainability of implemented improvements.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and measurable operational gains through structured problem-solving and employee engagement.

Champion Tech Solutions That Improve Productivity and Process Control:

  • Lead the adoption of digital and technical solutions that streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess needs and select appropriate tools and systems.
  • Ensure all solutions are evaluated for ROI and support broader CI and Kaizen strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 1–4 years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering environment.
  • A true enthusiasm for mechanical systems, equipment design, and production technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across departments.
  • Experience in planning functions in production units is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Ability to serve as a Kaizen Promotion Officer (KPO) and lead structured CI events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating or participating in Kaizen workshops or Lean events.
  • Exposure to equipment commissioning or process validation.
  • Experience with CAD, ERP/MES systems, or process simulation tools.
  • Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or CI methodology.
