Job Description

The First Baptist Church of Ewing, MO is prayerfully seeking qualified candidates for the role of Full-Time Pastor.

Qualifications:

• Must meet the Biblical qualifications for elders/pastors found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• A commitment to the doctrinal beliefs of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Seminary degree from a Southern Baptist seminary (preferred).
• Prior pastoral experience is strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all worship services and ordinances.
• Exhort the congregation weekly through Biblically rooted, Christ-centered preaching.
• Provide pastoral care through visitation, counseling, and prayer.
• Work alongside deacons to provide spiritual direction and administrative oversight to the congregation.
• Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties as needed.
• Represent and lead the church in community engagement and evangelistic outreach.

Compensation:

The pastorate at First Baptist Ewing is a full-time position.  Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  A parsonage is provided.

About the Community and Church:

Ewing, MO is located approximately 30 miles north of Hannibal, MO and 20 miles west of Quincy, IL.  The Church built new facilities in 2000, added on a fellowship hall in 2013, and built a new parsonage in 2019.  The Church is strategically located in the heart of the community, adjacent to Lewis County Elementary and High School (Highland).
