Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in FEMA Public Assistance programs to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support disaster recovery efforts across the United States, helping communities rebuild and restore vital infrastructure and public facilities. As part of a dedicated disaster recovery team, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical guidance, project management, and support for disaster recovery operations, including those caused by hurricanes, floods, and other catastrophic events.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support and guidance for FEMA Public Assistance (PA) recovery efforts.
Manage electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
Support communities in their recovery efforts by assisting in the design, construction, and repair of critical infrastructure.
Collaborate with FEMA and other stakeholders to ensure the timely submission of grant applications for federal funding to assist with recovery efforts.
Work in varying and sometimes challenging field conditions, including remote locations and disaster-affected areas.
What You'll Need:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in electrical engineering with experience in infrastructure design, construction, or maintenance.
FEMA Experience: At least one year of experience in Public Assistance (PA) deployment at the regional, state, or local level.
Professional License: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass an FBI background check.
Driving: Must have a clean driving record and pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. A valid driver's license is required.
Flexibility: Ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours and commit to a minimum 90-day assignment in disaster zones.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer skills, including proficiency in Adobe, Word, Excel, and web applications.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work across multiple teams and meet tight deadlines.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on various terrains.
Flexibility to relocate as required by FEMA.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent attention to detail and a customer-service-oriented mindset.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Previous experience working within the Public Assistance program (e.g., Site Inspectors, Program Delivery Managers, Public Assistance Coordinators, Debris Monitors, Hazard Mitigation Specialists).
Completion of relevant training, including Program Delivery Manager training, Site Inspector training, PA Operations I & II, Debris Management, and/or Hazard Mitigation training.
