Our client, a large nonprofit organization is currently looking for a freelance Content Writer to support their digital marketing team.
This opportunity is remote and part time to start (about 15hrs/week) with potential to expand and extend based on business need and performance.
Your focus will be creating compelling, mission-driven content that resonates with the org's audiences and supports their digital marketing goals. You'll produce high-quality written material for a range of platform first and foremost email, but also for websites, paid media, and other digital channels to drive engagement and amplify the organization's mission.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent storyteller with a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You should be passionate about making a positive social impact and be committed to producing content that aligns with the org's brand and values and that resonates with a diverse audience.
Responsibilities - Write high-quality, engaging email copy that aligns with campaign objectives and supports organizational goals while ensuring consistent messaging and brand tone.
- Write fundraising appeals and other donor communications to increase engagement and donations across the organization's website, email, digital ads, and other digital marketing materials.
- Craft compelling messaging that reflects the organization's mission, values, and programs while optimizing for SEO and user engagement.
- Utilize AI-driven tools to assist with content creation, including generating copy, optimizing writing for SEO, brainstorming ideas, and streamlining content workflows.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions, offering creative ideas for upcoming initiatives and campaigns.
- Collaborate with digital channel managers and other internal stakeholders to develop content calendars, aligning messaging with campaign timelines and goals.
- Stay informed on trends in nonprofit digital marketing and content strategy, bringing fresh ideas to the table for content development.
Requirements " 3+ years of experience in writing content, preferably in a nonprofit or social impact environment and with some fundraising/donor experience
" Superb communicator, who understands how the written word and visuals work together to reinforce messaging
" Proven track record of producing engaging content for digital platforms (email marketing, paid media, websites)
" Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to write in a variety of tones and formats
" Comfortable with AI-based writing tools to assist in content development
" Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including email content creation, SEO, and digital ads
" Ability to write for diverse audiences, including donors, volunteers, and community members
" Creative, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
" Passion for social impact and nonprofit work
" Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
" Self-motivated and proactive with a problem-solving mindset
