TITLE: Content Creator CLASSIFICATION: Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Communications TERMS: Full-Time/Permanent

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

St. Mary's Catholic Center seeks a highly motivated person who enjoys working with people, is mission-driven, and who possesses the skills, education, and experience necessary to support the ministry through work with communications and media. The Content Creator reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

St. Mary's Catholic Center at Texas A&M University has the mission to form apostles for the Church and the world. We are a ministry of the New Evangelization who believe in exercising a dynamic orthodoxy, faithful to the Church's instruction, engaging and fervent, in a manner that reaches the hearts of the faithful and the unchurched. The Content Creator is a member of the marketing and communications team under the Operations Department at St. Mary's Catholic Center. An important value of our parish staff is reliance on prayer, thus we enjoy the opportunity to begin each day of work in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The Content Creator position requires a balance of a friendly personality and administrative skills. The Content Creator focuses on supporting the Pastoral Outreach by developing engaging, mission-aligned content for college students and managing the parish app. This role emphasizes creative storytelling and ensures consistency with the organization's branding and communication strategies across digital platforms, the app, and printed materials. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with the Pastoral team to create engaging content that supports student outreach, events, and engagement.
  • Develop compelling videos, podcasts, graphics, and other multimedia materials tailored to a college audience.
  • Create promotional materials for events, including flyers, announcements, and audiovisual content.
  • Manage and update the parish app with event details, announcements, resources, and multimedia content.
  • Develop exclusive app content to increase user engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate app features into Pastoral and organizational initiatives.
  • Analyze app usage metrics to assess engagement and make recommendations for content improvements.
  • Respond to user feedback and troubleshoot content-related issues to optimize the app experience.
  • Ensure branding consistency across all platforms, including the St. Mary's app, social media, and print materials.
  • Align all communications with St. Mary's Catholic Center's mission, values, and visual identity.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to align app and content strategies with organizational goals.
  • Provide creative input to enhance engagement across all communication channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Willingness to occasionally work outside general hours for special events.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and video editing tools.
  • Experience with content management systems and app platforms or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and creativity, with the ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously. - A professional demeanor that includes the ability to set appropriate personal boundaries and maintain confidentiality.
  • A sense of personal integrity-keeping commitments, dealing honestly and respectfully with all individuals, and a commitment to personal growth and spiritual development.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are practicing Catholics.
  • All candidates must be able to support the mission of St. Mary's Catholic Center and its role as a Catholic institution.

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's degree in Communications Digital Media, or a related field required

EXPERIENCE

- 1-3 years of experience in content creation, app management, or digital communications.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM)
policies through the employment period.

SALARY

Commensurate based on experience

COMPENSATION

The Content Creator is a full time, benefits eligible position

JOB CONDITION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed in a church or office setting with daily and weekly deadlines. The Content Creator, while performing the duties of this job, is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit and perform repetitive motions of hands/wrists.

OTHER

The Director of Marketing and Communications will evaluate the Content Creator in writing at least annually.
