Job Purpose:
In this role, you will play a vital part in consulting with the management team to optimize financial operations. Your focus will be on managing expenses, controlling budget variances, and ensuring the effective allocation of capital. You'll be responsible for money management and overseeing high-level budgetary decisions, contributing significantly to the financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with management on financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Review and prepare financial reports and statements for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Develop and manage the organization's budget in partnership with other departments, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Conduct internal audits to ensure that accounting standards, policies, and procedures are being followed.
Prepare short- and long-term financial forecasts to support management and external reporting needs.
Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinating with external audit firms and reviewing their performance.
Provide guidance and training to staff on financial best practices, policies, and procedures.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a preference for experience in educational institutions.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders.
