Job Summary
This role will be part of the Aspen Dental Product Management team. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our product development team. Our team is doing exciting work build the next generation of dental practice management and dental lab management applications. Your responsibilities will include partnering with the product managers, developers and the business to define detailed requirements (User Stories, Acceptance Criteria) and ensure proper documentation to bring new software products to life and evolve existing products. In addition, you will partner with the business to ensure user acceptance testing is robust and all feedback is documented and reviewed. You will also play an essential role as a subject matter expert for your assigned domain in the applications.

Core Competencies & Responsibilities
  • Detail Oriented: You will define and document detailed product requirements by partnering with product managers, your peers, business stakeholders, technical colleagues and vendors. This could include areas such as functional requirements, technical specifications, user stories, user interfaces, acceptance criteria, key performance metrics to measure success, and dashboard requirements.
  • Process Oriented: You will be skilled in User interviews to understand related workflows. You will document such workflows clearly to enable the authoring of accurate requirements. You will elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Delivery Oriented: You will work closely with the Agile teams (Product, UX, Developers) to deliver software products in rapid, iterative fashion. You ill be skilled in breaking down requirements into smaller pieces enabling rapid delivery.
  • Quality Oriented: You will conduct User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders and vendors to ensure the product is built to meet the requirements you gathered and documented. This includes designing and executing test plans, documenting test results, and collaborating with stakeholders to address any issues or feedback.
  • Data Oriented : You will proactively look at the data for your product area including running SQL queries, using reports and dashboards to make data-driven conclusions. You will evaluate end user feedback, identify process deficiencies, research solutions and oversee the remediation of these deficiencies. You will recommend enhancement ideas to the Product Managers and work together on approved enhancements.

Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant combination of education and experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience working with databases; ability to write and manage SQL queries
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry,
  • Consolidate & formalize requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders. Encourage and question business units on their assumptions regarding implementation and design.
  • Strong communicator - Facilitation of requirements and meetings thru asking probing questions and truly listening and absorbing the needs of business partners and vendors
  • Align business & technical objectives to facilitate a shared understanding of the problem at hand
  • Evaluate and critically consider multiple options before helping the team settle on a solution
  • Impeccable organization, documentation and requirements writing skills - You have a keen ability to build clear and concise requirements
  • Open to constructive feedback and learning from an experienced team
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, flexible and adaptable attitude, can manage shifting priorities, requests, and timelines.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues in both business and technical roles.
  • Flexibility in use of SDLC frameworks - Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000 annually
