Position Overview

The Associate Director will be a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the creative and operational aspects of the project. This position requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in game development, particularly in managing large-scale projects within the wuxia genre or other culturally rich narratives. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director and other senior leaders to ensure that the project meets its creative, technical, and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Assist the Director in overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from concept development through to final release. Ensure that all aspects of the project align with the creative vision and strategic goals.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, including designers, artists, and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Creative Oversight: Provide guidance on the artistic and narrative direction of the game, ensuring that it authentically represents Wuxia culture and delivers an engaging player experience.
  • Operational Management: Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure that all milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA teams to ensure that the game meets the highest standards of quality and that all issues are addressed promptly.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve potential risks and issues throughout the development process, ensuring that the project stays on track.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years in the game development industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management or director-level role. Experience with Wuxia or culturally similar projects is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire large, multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Creative Vision: Strong understanding of game design, narrative development, and cultural representation, particularly in relation to wuxia themes.
  • Project Management: Extensive experience in managing project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to a diverse audience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with game development tools and platforms, including Unreal Engine, is a plus.

Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per year Salary is based on experience and includes potential bonuses linked to project milestones and overall success.
