Apparel Designer Our client is seeking an experienced Apparel Designer to support a high-impact project focused on women's performance training apparel. This is a unique opportunity to contribute creative direction and technical expertise within a fast-paced, collaborative design environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in athletic wear, a consumer-first mindset, and a sharp eye for combining style with function.
This role is a hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon. Apparel Designer Responsibilities - Develop original design concepts for women’s performance apparel, integrating aesthetic vision with technical performance needs.
- Produce detailed 2D sketches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring designs to life.
- Participate in material selection and fittings, ensuring the final product meets performance, comfort, and style expectations.
- Translate consumer insights into innovative design solutions that support the product vision and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with the performance apparel team and other stakeholders to align on project timelines and execution.
- Contribute to ideation and concept development through research, prototyping, and creative exploration.
- Communicate clearly through presentations and design reports to articulate concepts and technical details.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging tools in apparel design and visualization.
Apparel Designer Qualifications - Minimum of 8 years of experience in performance or athletic apparel design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Fashion, or a related field required; alternative education/experience combinations will be considered.
- Strong proficiency in 2D sketching and visual communication of design intent.
- Demonstrated experience creating consumer-focused designs that balance technical functionality with fashion-forward aesthetics.
- Must provide a portfolio showcasing athletic or performance wear, emphasizing design thinking, layering, and material use.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to evolving project needs.
- Familiarity with digital design tools such as CLO and AI-based rendering software (e.g., Viscom AI, Midjourney) is a plus.
