We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as part-time faculty members to teach a variety of courses remotely in the following subject areas:
English: Composition, Corequisite Support/Developmental English, Business and Professional Communication, Literature
Math: Foundations of Math, Applied Statistics, College Algebra
Psychology
Sociology
History/US Government and Politics/Geography
Anthropology
Science: Biology, Chemistry, Applied Physics
Philosophy
Fine Arts Appreciation: Music Appreciation, Art Appreciation
World Religions
Public Speaking
Education: Early Childhood, Elementary, Special Education
This is an exciting opportunity to engage with students through live, interactive, online classes, fostering an enriching learning environment in a supportive and innovative remote format.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach assigned courses remotely using video technology and learning management systems.
Deliver high-quality, engaging live lectures and facilitate interactive discussions with students through Microsoft Teams during scheduled class times.
Provide clear instructions and feedback for assignments and assessments, submitted through the learning management system.
Maintain regular communication with students to offer guidance and support.
Participate in any required faculty meetings or training sessions as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
A Master's degree in the discipline or sub-field of study you wish to teach, or a Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours specific to the discipline.
Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 6 graduate hours specific to the discipline and:
At least two years (or four academic terms) of teaching experience in discipline-specific courses at the college level, or teaching discipline-specific Advanced Placement courses at the secondary level.
Or, at least five years of discipline-specific teaching experience at the secondary level (grades 7-12) and a valid professional teaching license recognized by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for secondary-level teaching.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend information, as well as follow instructions or guidelines.
Proficiency in using technology tools for remote teaching and course management.
Work Schedule and Environment:
Courses are taught remotely via Microsoft Teams at scheduled times, offering real-time interaction with students.
All materials and resources are shared with students through the learning management system, where assignments and assessments are submitted.
Work hours are flexible, with courses scheduled between 8:30 AM and 9:30 PM, Monday through Thursday.
This position is remote, allowing instructors to teach from the comfort of their own home.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the department or director.
