1871 seeks a professionally driven, creative, and highly motivated intern to support our Marketing Team.

Time Commitment

This internship is from June 5 to August 7, 2025, and is virtual with occasional on-site collaboration. Hours and time commitment may be flexible if agreed upon by the supervisor and the internship candidate prior to the start of the internship.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, editing, and scheduling social media content across platforms, including YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter)
  • Support video capture, editing, and production for social media posts and campaigns
  • Monitor social channels for engagement opportunities and foster community interaction
  • Research industry and emerging social media trends for content creation
  • Track social media performance metrics and prepare reports
  • Help refine 1871’s social media pages to align with branding goals
  • Assist in building relationships with influencers for event collaborations
  • Provide administrative support to the marketing team

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Must be based in or near Chicago with availability to work in person 2-3 days a week
  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Proficient in video editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
  • Creative storyteller with the ability to craft engaging social media content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable engaging in front of the camera when needed for content creation
